Vice President of Operations

General Description

The Vice President of Operations (VPO) is responsible for leading the continuous improvement of operations in the company. The VPO integrates the strategic plan with the operations of the company. The VPO is expected to act in the absence of the President. The VPO ensures that the company’s service meets the needs of customers, sales reps, the public and staff. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive standardization of processes and procedures
  • Collaborate with owners, managers, and consultants, to implement successful strategies
  • Foster effective collaboration between departments, sales force, and other affiliated services
  • Develop new strategies to enhance market share and improve overall performance
  • Work through the management team to reduce costs, increase revenues, and improve efficiency
  • Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Expert in supply chain management and logistics practices
  • Travel to China and maintain relationships with suppliers
  • Travel to trade shows and territories to help maintain relationships with customers and sales reps

 

Skills and Experience

·        Proven operational excellence

·        Ability to improve business model, either through supply chain, strategy, or operations

·        Ability to manage projects, support analysis, and drive implementation

·        Expertise in sourcing, supplier management and change management

·        Strategic planning skills

·        Strong quantitative skills

·        Excellent problem solver with the ability to adapt to various situations

·        Excellent oral and written communication skills

·        Exceptional interpersonal skills

·        Strong negotiation skills

·        Proficiency with Microsoft Office

·        Experience with CRM, ERP and WMS

·        10+ years of experience in operations, logistics, or supply chain management

·        2+ years in working on strategic sourcing and/or supply chain projects outside of the US

·        Experience in multiple-location warehousing

·        Experience overseeing the implementation of new or upgraded ERP or WMS systems
