Chandelier construction
Chandeliers were originally candle holders, hence the name. Todays chandeliers consist of a central body with multiple branches or arms, each of which hold a socket and light bulb (or lamp). The bulbs are typically decorative types, such as flame shaped when visible. They may also be enclosed in a glass chimney, globe, fabric or metal shades, or other diffuser.
